It takes more than a lifetime to become a responsible dog owner, but with the right dog training tips you can make sure your dog stays safe and obedient. House Training Your Dog is one of the first things you should learn. House Training is one of the best dog training tricks you can teach your dog because it is so simple to do.
House Training your dog not to run out the front door is all about establishing yourself as the head of the pack. You need to be the Alpha dog. Be the leader of the pack. Use dog training tricks such as “Quiet” and “licks”.
This is a very good “Cue” trick. To teach this trick, you need to have a nice clean and safe place (dog house), start a game of fetch and throw a treat or toy to your pup. When they get it praise them and give them a treat and then give them another treat. When they get a treat immediately remove it and give them a positive reinforcement. Do this over until they know exactly what behavior is acceptable.
This dog training tips will start to show results soon. Once you have taught your dog some basic commands like “Sit” and “Stay”, then you can start teaching him other new skills. For example, you can teach him how to heel, walk forward, stop and go. Teaching your dog these new skills can take time, but remember your new skills are only good with repetition. Repetition is the key to learning these new skills. Eventually your dog will start to recognize your commands, and you will be able to control the amount of attention your dog gets, because your dog will realize you are not using him as a dog house in the front yard when he goes potty.
An alternative to using treats and rewards in the above exercise is to use an electric butt button. These are small electric buttons that you can hide around the doggie’s crate or house, and when they are pressed, they will send a shock to your dog. This is a really cool way to teach your dog how to deal with various situations around the house. You can also hide one of these butt buttons in your front yard, so that if you are not home your dog can still receive lots of electric stimulation.
In addition to using an electronic butt button to teach your dog to recognize your command, another good way to reinforce this process is by going through the steps one at a time. Start by teaching your dog to come into the house through the front door. Have him sit down and wait while you give the dog a treat and praise. Now close the door, but allow your dog to enter in through the rear door. Repeat this process over until your dog understands the process perfectly. Continue this process until your dog recognizes coming through the doors on his own as a sign that he is done.
If your dog is not seeing good behavior from this process, he may have some behavioral issues that need to be corrected. There are a number of ways to correct this type of issue, including crate training and positive reinforcement. I recommend looking into all of these options before moving forward with dog training. Good luck!
There are other ways to solve the problem of how to train a dog not to run out the door. You can try to reinforce his basic instinct to walk by letting him know you are coming through the front door before you open it. You could also try having a friend or family member to hold the leash, or have them walk by and throw a treat our dog. You can also take your dog outside on a leash and have him wait until you get ready to open the door. If you do this, then you can actually start conditioning your dog to wait by walking by your door before you open it, which will eventually get him to see the door as a cue to wait until you open it. Good luck!
