Teaching your dog to stand up can be an interesting task if you have never done it before. It takes a little bit of patience and effort but dogs are naturally social animals and love to please their owners. Teaching dogs how to stand up can be quite difficult because they do not like the feeling of being taller than them.
Most dogs will begin to stand by themselves in about two weeks. It is important to remember that this will depend on your dog’s maturity and health. Older pooches may take longer to get used to the idea. Dogs are easily trained with dog training tricks and commands. Teaching dogs how to sit, lie down, or fetch requires patience and repetition but is an important part of dog training.
Dogs can be taught to sit, lie down, or fetch using various dog training tricks and commands. Dog tricks and commands include walking, jumping, and sitting down. There are also more advanced commands such as the blindfold dog training, heel clicker training, and many more.
When learning how to teach a dog to lie down, start by setting the dog down in a relaxed position next to its owner. If your dog gets nervous, put it down immediately and walk away. Take a demonstration video or print out a picture of a dog lying down next to its owner, then show the dog in a relaxed posture next to its owner while the dog is barking and the owner speaks softly encouraging the dog to sit or lie down. Then repeat this procedure with a demonstration video. Praise the dog immediately when it obeys.
In addition to teaching dogs simple tricks like walking, getting up from a sitting or lying position, there are many other dog training tricks that can be taught to your dog. One of these tricks is shaking hands. Dogs love to do this trick, especially with their owners, and they love to receive the treat afterwards. To begin your dog’s training in shaking hands, go ahead and tape this particular trick on a recorder so you can practice this trick at home.
In order for your dog to learn this trick successfully, set up the situation where you and your dog are going to do this trick, but leave your dog at home. Then, once you have returned home, while your dog is watching a movie, feed treats that mimic the television noise and then leave your dog alone to entertain itself. Do this every night before you go to bed, and immediately after your dog finishes watching the movie. Over time, your dog will begin to associate the sound of television with playtime, and it will begin to shake hands with you.
Another one of the interesting dog training tricks out there involves your dog’s ability to turn around. You might think that this would be quite difficult, since dogs don’t turn around much to eat, but if you train your dog in this way, it can actually be very fun for them to do. To begin this training, you simply have to have treats on hand that you can continually toss to turn around as your dog moves his body from side to side. For example, if you toss a peanut when your dog turns his head around to see you, he’ll automatically turn around and eat the peanut.
After he has consumed the peanut, then you simply have to quickly twirl the treat in the opposite direction as fast as possible in order to catch his attention. If you run this same action repeatedly, your dog will eventually start to learn that when he hears you coming, he needs to turn around in order to see what you’re doing. If you keep him on his toes this way, then eventually he’ll turn around when you say the command and eat the treat right away. The whole point here is that this trick is easy to teach a dog and it can provide lots of fun for both of you.
